Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as a Part-Time Pastor / Shepherd. This role is not intended to carry the full ministry of the church alone, but to serve alongside other gifted leaders who share responsibility for the spiritual care, teaching, administration, worship, children and youth ministry, and outreach of Light and Life Chapel. The Pastor / Shepherd will help communicate the vision of the leadership, care for the congregation, encourage unity, and support a healthy, prayerful, and Christ-centred church community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Pastor / Shepherd / Overseer that may include administration, teaching, children and youth ministry, worship leadership, and pastoral care.
  • Provide spiritual leadership by helping the congregation grow in biblical truth, prayer, unity, and service.
  • Share Sunday morning teaching and worship service responsibilities with other members and gifted people within the congregation, as appropriate.
  • Provide pastoral care, one-to-one ministry, home or hospital visitation, prayer support, and counsel as needed.
  • Oversee or support the weekly prayer ministry of the church.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, helping build trust, unity, transparency, and shared accountability.
  • Work collaboratively with members, church leadership, volunteers, and the congregation to identify needs and respond with wisdom and compassion.
  • Encourage members of the congregation to use their gifts, share testimonies, serve in ministry, and participate in community outreach.
  • Support open communication with the congregation regarding ministry direction, updates, and decisions that affect the church body.
  • Assist with weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other pastoral responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications and Desired Gifts:

  • A strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to living out the Christian faith.
  • A shepherd’s heart for people, with the ability to listen, pray, encourage, and respond to needs with compassion and wisdom.
  • Ability to teach and communicate biblical truth clearly, humbly, and faithfully.
  • Ordained minister, eligible for ordination, or otherwise recognized as qualified for pastoral ministry within an appropriate Christian fellowship or denomination.
  • Previous experience in pastoral ministry, church leadership, teaching, prayer ministry, or related service is preferred.
  • A willingness to lead collaboratively rather than independently, honouring the gifts and responsibilities of other members.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and relational skills.
  • A heart for community outreach and for encouraging others to serve both within the church and in everyday life.
